SEC’s Crypto Task Force to Host New Roundtables on Digital Asset Regulation

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced a new series of four public roundtables organized by its Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit, aimed at shaping future regulatory policy around cryptocurrencies.

The roundtables, scheduled throughout May and June 2025, will cover key topics such as:

  • Stablecoin frameworks

  • Custody requirements for digital assets

  • Market surveillance and investor protection

  • Decentralized finance (DeFi) regulation

The initiative is part of the SEC’s ongoing efforts to balance innovation and consumer protection amid rapidly expanding crypto adoption.

Chair Gary Gensler emphasized the importance of transparent dialogue between regulators, industry participants, and the public, stating:

“These sessions are essential to ensuring that digital asset markets operate fairly, transparently, and in line with investor expectations.”

The roundtables will include representatives from major exchanges, legal scholars, and decentralized project leaders. Recordings will be published on the SEC’s official YouTube channel.
