As Bitcoin mining facilities expand under the Trump administration’s crypto-friendly policies, a growing number of U.S. residents are voicing concerns about the unrelenting noise generated by industrial-scale mining operations. Protests have emerged in states like Texas, Georgia, and New York, where 24/7 mining has become a source of health complaints, sleep disruption, and community tension.

While mining companies benefit from cheap electricity rates and tax incentives, local communities are increasingly feeling the downside. Residents near large data centers report persistent humming, vibrations, and what some describe as a “jet engine that never turns off.”

Industry advocates argue that mining supports job creation and innovation, but critics say the benefits come at the cost of environmental degradation and quality of life. Some municipalities are now considering noise ordinances or outright restrictions on mining activity in residential areas.

“I support Bitcoin, but not at the expense of my health,” said one affected resident in Cherokee County, Georgia.
